What is KeyPal?

KeyPal is a ground-breaking key storage and management solution that revolutionises smart key exchange. It enables convenient, secure and contactless key handling between Airbnb agents, hosts and guests.

How does KeyPal work

For hosts:

Download the KeyPal app, create an account, and choose a subscription.
Scan the QR code provided to open your key locker and securely store your keys.
Send a uniquely generated QR code to your guest. They’ll scan this code to open the locker and collect the keys.

For guests:

Once you’ve received your unique QR code, simply scan it at your locker to open and retrieve your keys. Don’t forget to close the locker door on your way out!

Is my key/item safe?

With KeyPal, your key/item is stored in a secure custom-made key locker and monitored by CCTV and an alarm system 24/7.

Where’s my closest KeyPal?

We’re currently located at Southern Cross Station, Melbourne’s largest public transport hub. We’re planning to open more KeyPal locations in other major Australian cities.

Can I use KeyPal for car rental keys?

Absolutely. KeyPal can be used to provide seamless 24/7 key exchange for rental car keys.

Help - I can’t open my locker with the QR code provided.

If you’re a host: Please contact our customer service team. Locker doors can be opened remotely.
If you’re a guest: Please contact your host. Locker doors can be opened remotely.

My locker’s lease term has expired, but my key/item is still inside.

Please contact our customer service team. Please note, KeyPal is not liable for lost keys/items.

How long can my key/item be stored in an KeyPal locker?

This will depend on your subscription. Please log in to the KeyPal app to check or update your subscription.

How do KeyPal’s subscription plans work?

Pay-as-you-go: If you subscribe on the 1st of January (whether at 12.01am, 1.00pm or 11.59pm), your lease will expire on the 2nd of January at 11.59pm.
Monthly: If you subscribe on the 1st of January, your lease will expire on the 1st of February at 11.59pm.

Yearly: If you subscribe on the 1st of January, your lease will expire on the 1st of January at 11.59pm on the following year.

Do KeyPal subscriptions renew automatically?

Yes. For your convenience, all subscriptions can be renewed automatically. To update or cancel your subscription, please log in to the KeyPal app.

Is there corporate pricing if I want to use multiple key lockers?

Yes, we offer enterprise pricing for more than 20 smart key lockers. Please email hello@keypal.com.au for more information.
